Glen Onoko Falls

Today was a beautiful sunny day for a hike at Glen Onoko Falls in Jim Thorpe, Pennsylvania. The Falls Trail is a steep, rocky climb along a beautiful series of cascading waterfalls.

The stream tumbles over boulders.

Taking a rest by the waterfall

The mist is refreshing on a hot day.

The vista is beautiful from the top of this waterfall that plunges over the outcropping.

Drops of water like strands of gems

After hiking to the top of the falls, we hiked on top of the plateau to see this gorgeous view of the river below. We saw people biking on the path and rafting in the river. Of course, they looked like tiny ants from this vantage point.

Delaware Water Gap and Sunfish Pond

Today was a beautiful clear day for a hike up the Appalachian Trail to Sunfish Pond! The bright sunshine warmed us during the strenuous hike uphill, but as the day progressed it became breezy and cooler.

First glimpse of Sunfish Pond after leaving the Appalachian Trail

Can you see the frog? While we were watching him, a salamander with a blue tail surprised us by crawling right by our feet. I think we surprised him too!

A place to rest and enjoy the beauty of this glacier pond before heading down the trail

Turning Faith Into Action: Interfaith Coalition of Allentown Day of Community Service

Youth groups from Congregation Keneseth Israel in Allentown and Baha'i Faith of the Lehigh Valley participated in the Interfaith Coalition of Allentown Day of Community Service. We made fleece blankets to be distributed at local homeless shelters and soup kitchens.
