I created this retrospective exhibition of a selection of the oil paintings of W. Scott Bivans in commemoration of his birthday. Enjoy!

Man, loved seeing these paintings...even if they were only a few inches by a few inches on my computer screen.

I hadn't seen hardly any of them before. I was stunned by a number. Just stunned.

I miss the guy. Big time.

That was quite stunning, Anne! The production was great. Thanks for sharing this - and that was just a small output of his work!

Thank you for doing this. I miss him and only have a few visuals from his prolific work. I knew several of the paintings, I was there when some were painted. Others were completely new to me. I particularly enjoyed seeing the coveted Christmas Tree from the year that he gave many people one from a series of completely different trees lit at night in Connecticut near his house. I saw them all in his very cold studio before they were separated. I still have mine on the wall year round, but the one in the video is the center piece of the series.
I miss him and have many strange but good stories to tell of how he moved to New York City and ended up spending time with his 2nd cousins, who he didn't know as family for over a year.
I would love to offer my services editing together a longer video in the future if you have any additional images. I am an editor and television music supervisor and have been searching for any visual record of his extraordinary work.
His 2nd Cousin, Shari Norton

I first met Scott when he rented the apartment below my parents on 1st Avenue in NYC, and the painting with the orange chair is from our home in Cornwall CT, where I spent much of my childhood. The light his paintings exude and their exquisite detail reminds me what an outgoing, generous man he was and how fortunate we were to have him as a friend.

Thank you so much Padraic for your kind comment. Thanks for letting us know more about the chair painting! That was always one of our favorites, and Scott's Dad asked me for it because he loved it so much. Thanks for remembering Scott, we love him and miss him very much, and it always warms my heart when someone shares a memory.
