Canoeing at Merrill Creek Reservoir

Today we took a canoe trip to the Merrill Creek Reservoir in Washington, NJ. The weather was spectacular. We saw a lot of water birds including a Little Green Heron, Great Blue Heron, Cormorants, a Kingfisher, and an immature Bald Eagle.

If you zoom in on the photo, the black speck in the sky is an immature bald eagle, offspring of a nesting pair that has been at the Reservoir since 1998.

View from the canoe.

The dead trees near the water's edge made an interesting obstacle course for the canoe.

We stopped for lunch here. Saw some crayfish and a little frog.
