Longwood Gardens, Kennett Square, Pennsylvania

I had a beautiful day in Longwood Gardens. The morning was chilly, but sunny, and the earliest Spring flowers are blooming. We are still some weeks away from tulips and roses and many of the most popular blooms, but forsythias, magnolias, and some wildflowers are blossoming.

Magnolia trees are beginning to bloom.

Although manicured gardens of multicolored flowers are beautiful, I always still love a walk in the woods. Pierre duPont originally purchased this property to save the woods from the sawmill, perhaps these beautiful Hickory trees.

A real tree house! The tree house doesn't rely on the actual trees for support, therefore protecting them from any accidental damage.

Something for everyone. This fountain was in the children's garden.
